Mention someone

A mention (XEP-0372) draws a specific person’s attention.

Steps

1. In the composer, type @ and start the person’s name.
2. Pick them from the list. The mention is inserted into your message.
3. Select Send.

Result

Mentioned people are flagged and the @ badge at the top of the Chats list shows the count of mentions waiting for you. You can reference a whole room with @room where the room allows it.
